Dr. Aloyce Kaliba holds Doctorate and Master of Science Degrees in Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas and Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro Tanzania. Dr. Kaliba is a member of the College of Business faculty at Southern University and A&M College since 2007. He previously worked with the Aquaculture/Fisheries Center, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (six years), National University of Lesotho (one year), the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Tanzania (for ten year). His areas of research include but not limited to Aquaculture/Fisheries Economics and Management, International Development, Farm Level Efficiency, Impact Assessment and Policy Analysis. Research themes are centered on marketing, distributional analysis and poverty reduction. In collaboration with other scientist, Dr. Kaliba has received several grants amounting to over one million dollars from several organizations such as U.S. Aid for International Development, U.S. Department of Agriculture, International Foundation for Science, International Development Research Center, Global Development Network, Rockefeller Foundation and others. His papers has been published in journal such as Aquaculture Economics and Management, Journal of Applied Aquaculture, African Journal of Agricultural and Natural Resource Economics, Aquaculture International, Quarterly Journal of International Agriculture, Journal of World Aquaculture Society, Journal of Agricultural and Applied Economics, Journal of Sustainability Development and World Ecology and several others.
