Tyler B. Mark holds a B.S. degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Kentucky and an M.S. degree in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, where his thesis topic examined the potential for growth in the Indiana livestock industry. Mr. Mark is author or coauthor on 2 peer reviewed journal articles, 2 extension publications, and numerous presentations and posters. His current research is focused on biofuels. In particular, cane, switchgrass, and sweet sorghum are potential energy crops that are being considered for use in the production of biomass for cellulosic ethanol production. His dissertation study conducts an in-depth examination of the production costs, potential pricing strategies, optimal crop mix, and optimal plant locations to determine the feasibility of producing cellulosic ethanol in the Louisiana Sugarcane Belt.
