Dr. Henning
is the Undergraduate Coordinator of the Agricultural Business
degree program in the department. He teaches undergraduate courses
in rural land appraisal and agricultural policy. A native of Kentucky,
he holds a BS degree from the University of Kentucky, a Master’s
from Oklahoma State University, and a doctorate from Mississippi
State University, all in Agricultural Economics. He is currently
the International President of the Honor Society of Agriculture,
Gamma Sigma Delta.
Dr. Henning’s
research program has ranged from rural economic development to
natural resource economics. He has previously conducted research
on the relationship between adoption of best management practices
in agriculture and water quality, as well as research in rural
land markets in Louisiana. His current research is directed toward
the dynamic interaction of land resources and human activity that
results in rural land markets. Using land sales data collected
since 1994, the project investigates the interaction of land characteristics
and land use in determining land value in rural areas.
