Lisa C. Schiavinato
is Coastal Law, Policy, and Community Development Specialist for North Carolina Sea Grant and Co-Director of the North Carolina Coastal Resources Law, Planning, and Policy Center, which is a partnership between NC Sea Grant, UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law, and UNC-Chapel Hill Department of City and Regional Planning. Ms. Schiavinato conducts research and outreach on various ocean and coastal law issues and works with coastal communities, government agencies, the North Carolina Legislature, and citizens in the development of coastal, ocean, natural hazard, and natural resources law and policy for the state and mid-Atlantic region. Her particular areas of expertise include ocean and coastal law, land use law, natural hazard mitigation, fisheries, wetlands regulation, and aquaculture.
