Jim Wilkins is an Associate Professor in the Louisiana Sea Grant College Program where he is the Director of the Sea Grant Legal Program. Jim Wilkins received his B.S. in biology from Centenary College, M.S. from Texas A&M in marine biology, and a Juris Doctor from the LSU Law Center. Mr. Wilkins teaches a course in Coastal Zone Management and does research on a wide range of legal issues affecting the use and conservation of ocean and coastal resources.

Areas of Work: Environmental law and regulation. wetlands, submerged lands, coastal hazards, law of the sea, fisheries, land use, coastal zone management, coastal restoration.
