CNREP 2019: Sponsorship Info

Background

The Center for Natural Resource Economics Policy (CNREP) is a national research and extension cooperative formed in 2003 and housed at Louisiana State University.  The Center fosters the interaction of socioeconomic professionals to address natural resource management challenges in the U.S. and abroad. The Center currently has 30 active members from 12 institutions across the U.S. The center’s current activities, funded at $13.1 million over the past 10 years by 47 public and private sources, has led to the emergence of CNREP as a primary source of socioeconomic expertise for state and federal agencies in the Gulf coast region.  Every three years, CNREP holds a national conference to coordinate the activities of resource economists and policy professionals working on coastal issues. The CNREP forum is the primary venue in the southern US for coastal researchers to network with social science peers from academia, state and federal agencies, NGOs and the private sector. A sample of emerging session topics under consideration for the CNREP 2019 conference include:

  • River management for commerce and restoration
  • Economics of water: emerging priorities and policies
  • Valuation and application of ecosystem services
  • Consumer preferences for coastal amenities
  • Assessing the socioeconomic impacts of restoration
