Dr. Stephen Barnes is Director of the Kathleen Blanco Public Policy Center and an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Dr. Barnes completed his Ph.D. in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin in 2008 and previously worked for an economics consulting firm in Connecticut and Dallas as well as spending 10 years on the faculty at LSU including serving as Director of the Economics & Policy Research Group. Dr. Barnes has led projects on a variety of topics in applied economics including over $8 million in grants including several studies on the economics of land loss and environmental hazards.
