Paula Ouder is an editor in the Communications Department at Louisiana Sea Grant, working collaboratively with colleagues to fulfil the program’s tripartite mission of research, education and outreach into the sustainable use of the coastal environment. She received a B.A. in mass communication from Tulane University in 1992 and is an honors graduate of Southern University Law Center, where she earned her J.D. in 2014. Prior to joining Sea Grant in 2003, Ms. Ouder worked as a newspaper photojournalist, writer and editor.

She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Baton Rouge Bar Association and the Louisiana Outdoor Writers Association.

Areas of work: science communication, public relations, editing, photojournalism, web film production, oral histories, outreach, legal research and dispute mediation
